Weekend in San Francisco 2
Earlier this week I already posted the pictures from last weekend in San Francisco. I went there to visit my parents, my sister and her friend. They are on a vacation for three weeks and they ended the second week in San Francisco. Last Tuesday they flew to Florida where they are staying the last week with my uncle.
Saturday I arrived in Oakland at 14:00 where my family picked me up. We drove to hotel Beresford in San Francisco at the Sutter street (or how my father accidentally called it every time: the Sucker street or the Cutter street). When we dropped our baggage, my parents went to bring the rental car back to Hertz. After half an hour they called me to ask if we could go downstairs so they could pick us up in front of the hotel. They got the address of Hertz (where they had return the car to). Since they didn’t want to lose any time we had to come with them so we could start with the city tour directly afterwards.
We drove a few blocks with nice streets which scared my mother because they where pretty steep. Then we found out that the house number where we needed to go was actually just two blocks from our hotel. *d0h*
After we got rid of the car, we tried to get a tram to the harbor. This seemed to be impossible because the trams where all crowded and there was no more room for us so we agreed it was faster to just walk to the harbor. (it took us less then half an hour, so this was no problem)
When we arrived there we went to the Ghirardelli Square to have dinner and look around.
The old trams started at that point so we decided to get in line to take the tram home. I think we waited for about 45 minutes but it was worth the waiting because of all the steep roads it took.
I had to sleep on the ground because the hotel room was only for four persons.
On Sunday we stood up early so we had enough time to do all the things before I had to go back to San Diego. First we went to the golden gate bridge by bus. We walked over the bridge and made some nice pictures. We also saw a lot of sea lions and dolphins. I took a picture of one sea lion, but its not really sharp. After the walk we took the bus back to the city where we visited China Town. I bought a San Francisco shirt there and we had lunch.
At 21:00 I arrived at San Diego airport again. At 22:00 my roommate picked me up and brought me home.
I had a great weekend.
